Ultrafiltration (UF) is a variety of membrane filtration in which forces like pressure or concentration gradients lead to a separation through a semipermeable membrane.suspended solids and solutes of high molecular weight are retained in the so-called retentate, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane in the permeate. This separation process is used in industry and research for purifying and concentrating macromolecular solutions. Ultrafiltration membranes are defined by the molecular weight cut-off (mwco) of the membrane used. Ultrafiltration is applied in cross-flow or dead-end mode.

Active carbon water filter mainly use of high carbon content, high molecular weight, high specific surface area activated carbon organic floc physical adsorption of impurities in the water, to achieve water quality requirements. Oxidization and separation technique is applied for the removal of harmful substances of ferrum and manganese. The reverse osmosis device configured with an ultrafilter(UF) whose output of 1m3/hour and filtration precision of 5 μm ,which could prevent the particles from entering the  pump and RO membrane module,or scratching the surface of the membrane.There are 7 pieces 40 "polypropylene melt-blown cartridges in the precision filter container ,when the pressure difference reached 1kg/cm3 we should replace it  with a new one. Under normal operating conditions, this filter cartridge can maintain its life of more than 2 ~ 3 months , and filter structure could meet the requirements of rapid replacement on filtration cartridge.

Under the conditions of high salinity and low pressure, compared with reverse osmosis, nanofiltration has high penetrability.
The flux of nanofiltration membrane is much higher than RO. Furthermore, nanofiltration enables the simultaneity of condensation and desalination. If used as a sudstitute for RO, nanofiltration can accelerate the condensation process, and magnify the cycle of concentration.
